ARE YOU A DOG OR PUPPY OWNER?

Dog obedience classes will assist you and your family to develop a safe, fulfilling relationship with your dog.

WHEN: Classes are held each Sunday morning from February to November (Click Here for Class Times). Classes are NOT held on long weekends OR if the temperature is forecast to be 33 degrees or more on the Saturday evening news. If persistent rain is forecast please telephone the club on 8268 5046.

WHERE: The Woodville Community Dog Training Centre, Ceder Avenue, Woodville South (Click here for Location Map).

FORMAT: We use a reward based training program; rewarding behaviour you want repeated and ignoring or diverting behavour you do not want. We have a special Puppy Class for those extra young dogs (under 6 months). At this extremely important stage in your puppy's life he/she will learn basic exercises and how to socialise with other dogs and people.

IMMUNISATION: Puppies and dogs may commence once they are immunised against Distemper, Hepatitis and Parvovirus (Protech C3 or equivalent).

RULES: Members are required to read the Club Rules before commencing training (Click Here for Club Rules).

NEW MEMBERS: It is important that new members read the information available on the following pages before attending the club: Introduction Class, Rules and Membership & Fees.

Animal Welfare & RSPCA Christmas Drive - Posted 19/11/08

Our Annual Christmas Drive is on. Please kindly donate an item of either, dog &/or cat food, blankets (for bedding) or any toys to these worthwhile charities. Please place items in the box near the WCDTC shop by Christmas break up so the club can deliver them to the league in time for Christmas.


 

Support Your Club - Posted 19/11/08

 

Purchase a ticket in the WCDTC Christmas Raffle to be drawn at the Christmas party, all proceeds go to the WCDTC. Tickets are only $1.00 each and can be purchased from the canteen or the shop.

1st Prize - year membership

2nd Prize - half dozen wine

3rd Prize - dog exercise kit


Christmas Breakup (7 December) - Posted 17/11/08

As usual the first Sunday in December will be our final training session for the year. This year the final graduation examinations will be on 23rd  November  with presentation of ribbons and certificates on 30th November. The breakup day will commence with a training session for all members at 9:30am on Sunday 7 December. Annual awards will be presented at 10.00am followed by fun activities for families and their dogs including a fancy dressed pooch parade.

There will be free face painting, clown, barbecue and lollies as well as games to be played with your dog. Also our colouring in competition will be judged. This is a definitely a fun family day and all members and their families are asked to participate.
