'A Socially Trained Dog Is Your Best Friend'

RULES

1. The Woodville Community Dog Training Centre Inc. accepts no responsibility for injury to you or your dog during training.

2. Handlers are legally liable if their dog bites someone or attacks another dog.

3. All dogs must be on lead between the hours of 8:30am and 12:30pm on training days, unless under the supervision of an Instructor. These times may be extended by the committee and/or the Chief Instructor under some circumstances.

4. Bitches in season are no allowed on the grounds during training.

5. Where possible, the car park between our grounds and the Bowling Club should be utilised. Car parks designated for the Bowling Club must be made available after 12:00pm.

6. If you bring children onto the club grounds, it is your responsibility to look after them and they must not disrupt or interfere with classes.

7. Children are not to be in the Kindergarten playground without adult supervision.

8. Classes are held each Sunday from February to November except on long weekends OR if the temperature is forecast to be 33 degrees or more on the Saturday evening news. If persistent rain is forecast please telephone the club on 8268 5046.

9. Current Vaccination Certificates must be shown to Register when joining and upon renewal of membership every 12 months.

10. The badge provided by the Registrar when you join our club, must be worn in class. If you lose your badge, you will be provided with a new one at a cost of $1.00. Entry to class without a badge is at the discretion of the Instructor.

11. Smoking is not permitted when you are training your dog.

12. Handlers must wear enclosed footwear in class. Bare feet, thongs and sandals will exclude handlers from training.

13. No excessive reprimands are used on dogs, eg striking, whipping, kicking or throwing to ground.

14. Handlers are responsible for cleaning up after their dog if it fouls the grounds. Scoops, bins and plastic bags are provided for this purpose. If your dog urinates against the building, verandah or equipment, please use one of the watering cans provided to dilute the urine.

15. No handler is allowed to use jumps or other equipment unless under the direction of an Instructor qualified to take that class, or under the supervision of a handler trailing with that equipment.

16. If you use club equipment, please return it to the same spot you got it from.

17. Care must be taken not to distract or interfere with classes during training. If you must walk across the grounds, please do not walk right through the middle of a class.

18. All dogs, unless under immediate handler control, must be secured as follows:

- If you are leaving your dog for less than 10 minutes, please use the 'short term hitching rail' located at the south-western end of the verandah

- If you are leaving your dog for longer than 10 minutes, please use the rope off area located in front of the Kindergarten

- Permission to tie the dogs in any other area must be obtained from the Committee

19. Only handlers with dogs tied in the 'long term' area are allowed inside this roped off section.

20. Members welcome to come into the club rooms. Dogs are allowed at the discretion of the Committee
